Boschiglia Estate, our distinctive Villas of the Month for January, is a recently-restored Renaissance-style property. Built in the 17th century, the six-bedroom home now has many modern luxuries, including air conditioning, an entertainment room with a home theatre, and a computer with high speed Internet access.

Tucked into a corner of the beautiful Tuscan countryside, Boschiglia is close to many exciting attractions and destinations in Italy; the famous city walls of Lucca and the beautiful Italian seashore are both less than a 20-minute drive away, while guests can reach Florence in less than an hour and Siena in an hour and a half.

From the iron gates that serve as an impressive entrance to the property to grounds that include a Roman-style swimming pool and a garden of roses, the estate of Boschiglia is a magnificent attraction unto itself. The three-story villa features a large gourmet kitchen and dining room with fireplace on the ground floor; three bedrooms and a living room with antique Tuscan furniture on the first floor; and three additional bedrooms as well as a library and the entertainment room (including a television with satellite service) on the second floor. All bedrooms are en suite and include comfortable sitting areas.

The rate includes daily breakfast and the service of a staff of two maids (six days a week) and a gardener; a chef can be added to the staff for an additional charge. Tuscan cooking classes, laundry service, and concierge services are also available upon request and at an additional charge.
